Welcome to ARTE,
the house of Boutique Pilates

Based in Hong Kong, we provide certified teacher training, workshops, and intensive short courses.

Our flagship intensive teacher training course offers a unique and holistic learning experience. Small cohorts of 6 students work closely with our masters to learn through an integrated curriculum that mixes lessons on anatomy with repertoires, the
use of the equipment, and hands-on experience.

Our approach to teaching is to give personalized guidance in a warm and intimate
setting. Most importantly, we’ll mentor you to apply this knowledge with live case studies and teaching opportunities.

ARTE Pilates Teacher Academy

A 5-month Pilates Teacher Program designed not only to teach you anatomy, movement and how to use equipment, but also to mentor you in mastering the craft of becoming a great Pilates teacher.

Our job is to tune and shape you into the best version of yourself by offering deliberate and careful guidance. Masters of Pilates need to complement a deep knowledge with a sensitivity to their clients to know what technique is best and how to pass that knowledge on. To help graduates to become great teachers, we integrate anatomy with practical work and live case studies.

Master Trainer
Kathleen Lee

Kathleen, born in South Korea, was first introduced to Pilates 6 years ago, as rehabilitation following an injury from dance. Pilates was intuitive and in sync with her personal style of exercise. She was immediately drawn to this exercise beholding a great philosophy behind and wanted to share the benefits and passion of Pilates with others. 

Kathleen holds a Pilates Certification from Modern Pilates International and Educator Certification from the Pilates University of Contrology. She is currently a Pilates instructor at O:RIN and the Founder and Master Trainer at ARTE.

She believes Pilates can help every human to achieve a well being life both physically and mentally and lastly open up a new chapter of opportunities for our graduates.

This is the Pilates Wunda Chair, where exercises are performed sitting on the surface (pictured) or standing on the side with hands or feet in contact with the pedal.
It looks like quite an unassuming piece of equipment but it packs a challenge because only a small part of the body is in contact with the equipment. This requires more stability and balance. The Wunda Chair is a great accompaniment to practicing on the Reformer as it works on many of the same skills from balance, centering, concentration and core.

We often see Pilates Reformer classes all over social media and while it's definitely trending, mat pilates offers a foundation for learning to control the muscles that can't be achieved through the Reformer. Both go hand in hand to first work on foundations, followed by using the Reformer to strengthen and tone muscles. ​​​​​​​​

The piece of equipment pictured is a spine corrector, which is an amazing add-on to mat practice as it can be used to lengthen the body and restore the natural curve of the spine.

Introduction of the Ladder Barrel in our Pilates Teacher Academy.​​​​​​​​

The barrel looks like a very simple piece of equipment, but it has a lot to offer. The rounded shape of the barrel provides supported spinal movement and it's also commonly used at the beginning of a Pilates workout as it's a good piece of equipment to do various stretches on. ​​​​​​​​

Our students are learning how to guide their clients in various movements and how to adjust the equipment to suit each client's body shape.
